i am a non-veg turned veg from the past 11 years. When i had delivered my son, the nurse used to get me eggs for breakfast and i used to feel that i was eating someone’s child. eversince i hv given up non-veg.

presently I don’t even eat eggs in disguised forms as cakes, etc.

Here in Mexico and expecially in the north we are big meat eaters: pork, beef, lamb, and goat...My wife, will not vegitarian, cannot bear to see an animal and then have me cook it..I do not feel anyone would lose any important functions by not eating meat, but personally, even after seeing what these poor animals go through, have not and can not imagine meals without it. Sad and hipocritical I know, but honest.

Thanks for commenting.Don’t mind but just tell me why you can’t imagine meal without meat. How can an intellectual like you enjoy non-veg even after knowing everything? Veg is healthy, proof is in your own home. Then just decide and quit meat. Remember, unless YOU wish to quit, nothing or no one can make you quit.And if YOU decide to, then nothing can stop you. So go ahead and stop being a party to all that cruelty. I’ll be too happy if you really do that.

I agree, ir’s very hipocritical on my part..My wife cooksmore pasta, soy, veggies (although she does chicken sometimes), but I am generally the one at the supermarket buying beef, etc..

Yes, really I agree with everything in the article. Only when you love an animal do you understand the meaning of true and selfless love, and then feasting on a killed animal will not even come to your mind. I do fully support vegetarianism. We should stop all this cruelty.

Very very good article,congrates.Its sure that meat eaters are mostly violent in behaviour you are right in saying ”Anyone can see that there are millions of vegetarians in the world surviving and leading normal lives from the times immemorial, people who have never tasted meat etc since generations.”

AND ”I personally feel that the meat eaters, since they grow up that way, feel fewer qualms at the idea of dealing out injury to others or are less perturbed with violence.

Shahid Kapur turned vegetarian and now most of the intellectuals and celebrity are turning vegetarian.

This is one of the best article I have seen on Instablogs.Even 100 stars is less for this.Lots of applaud from the INSTABLOGS FRIENDS COMMUNITY,we wants more such articles from yr side.

I think it is how we were raised, but I do not agree that we are MORE VIOLENT, LESS AFFECTED BY VIOLENCE, AND MORE APT TO DISH OUT VIOLENCE.

I was raised in the view that meat (beef, chicken, etc) was raised to eat..At the same time I have seen lambs who have strayed and been run over by a vehicle in which I stopped, took them to a vet, and paid all cost while searching for the owner..I didn’t scoop it off the highway and eat it...

It has so much to do with culture, but yes, reading more, I see the wrong...but please don’t label people in general..

Hi Oscar,

I did not mean to hurt you, or for that matter, anyone. Many people are raised that way but after knowing what happens to these hapless animals, is’nt it for good that one determines to quit non-veg and stop being a party to all that cruelty, at least for future? You will please appreciate that taking one injured lamb to vet and slaughtering the other one for eating- the two things do not go well with each other.

Deepa,the INSTABLOGS environmentalist,pl go through this article,worth a lot,may be life of a helpless animal,I cant forget the words of Shahid Kapoor the actor,who when saw the butcherhouse[slaughter house],and the act...,he gaveup....

and became vegetarian.

Hi Wordspark,first,when I saw this title,I didnt gone through it,because for me the word meat,loks like an animal is saying eat me,so being a vegetarian,i thought It contains something related with meat eaters.but when I opened the page...I cant explain..I even dont find words to appreciate you Mr Wordspark.We fully support you,if you initiate,or wants to campaign for this cause.
