It hardly makes a difference that India would produce record rice this year. Millions in this country sleep hungry every day and not a soul is moved. The state of poverty in some states in shocking. As Asmita puts it, it is a mere stat for the politicians to rejoice and no one else.

This news is for global markets and middle agents, this rice will neither reduce poverty of farmers nor hunger...
