I bet the bureaucrats will be real happy to hear that... they just sold all our wheat to make profit in the line of over 50,000 crores. I wonder how much the rice will fetch them this time??

It hardly makes a difference that India would produce record rice this year. Millions in this country sleep hungry every day and not a soul is moved. The state of poverty in some states in shocking. As Asmita puts it, it is a mere stat for the politicians to rejoice and no one else.

Hi Atul,
Thanks for reading and commenting.
We find it is indeed so when we juxtapose the masses of excess grains rotting on platforms with the starving poor people, but let us hope and pray that some noble soul takes charge of things and improves them.

Regards.

This news is for global markets and middle agents, this rice will neither reduce poverty of farmers nor hunger...

Hi Madhuri,

Thanks for reading and commenting.
It is indeed striking that such news raises more doubts than hopes. Thanks to the corruption, the common man on streets has no confidence left in the government system. But let us keep raising our voices and hope for the better.
